Who We Are Looking For

This is a 14 month contract role for a maternity leave. We are looking for a Senior Legal Administrative Assistant to assist a busy Personal Injury Associate. This is a great opportunity for someone that has personal injury experience, but may be open to other opportunities, within the firm, once the contract has completed.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

·         Manage files from opening to closing

·         Draft standard letters and documents i.e. Affidavits, List of Documents, List of Specials

·         Schedule dates for Examinations for Discovery and Trial

·         Schedule various independent medical appointments

·         Review medical records

·         Liaise with ICBC

·         Conduct substantive file reviews

·         Request and follow up on medical records and reports

·         Liaise with clients via phone, e-mail and in-person meetings

·         Maintain bring forward system  for limitation and follow-up dates

·         Prepare invoices to clients (using Acumin accounting software)

·         Post time sheets (using Acumin accounting software)

·         Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

·          Graduate of a Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal Program considered an asset

·          Sound experience in the area of Personal Injury

·          Strong knowledge of Part 7 benefits

·          Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

·          Excellent English oral and written skills.

·          Excellent organizational skills

·          Able to take initiative and use good judgment. Has a take charge attitude and tact

·          Able to communicate with clients, lawyers and staff

·          Familiar with billing/invoicing processes in a legal environment
