Who We Are Looking For

Boughton Law is currently recruiting for a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our float pool. The successful candidate will ideally have Corporate/Commercial, Banking, and Real Estate experience. This is a great opportunity for a Legal Administrative Assistant looking to gain experience in the legal industry and grow their career. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative,  and legal support to the firm.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for absent Legal Assistants and assist Lawyers
  • Attend to overflow requests from Legal Assistants, Paralegals and Lawyers
  • Prepare correspondence, faxes, documents, letters etc. using Digital Dictaphone, email instructions, copy typing and handwritten notes: using application software (Word & Outlook)
  • Open files and maintain filing systems
  • Maintain bring forward systems to ensure follow up and receipt of requested materials/documents
  • Prepare invoices to clients (using Acumin accounting software)
  • Post time sheets (using Acumin accounting software)
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Legal Administrative Assistant Program
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant with working knowledge of  Corporate/Commercial procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing demands and schedules
  • Proficient with BC Online and ALF
  • Able to take initiative and exercise good judgment.
  • Familiar with billing/invoicing processes in a legal environment
